Thermostatventile

Thermostatic radiator valves are independent control systems which regulate the heat emission of a radiator. They are tested on our test beds according to EN 215. The tests have been approved by DIN CERTCO for the European KEYMARK certification programme.

The tests include:

  •    Closing and opening characteristic curves for different target value settings, differential pressures as well as static pressures
  •    Closing time behaviour
  •    Influence of water temperature
  •    Pressure test
  •    Leak test
  •    Fatigue and strength tests

Two valve test beds are available to test the closing and opening characteristic curves of thermostatic radiator valves according to EN 215. The versatile test beds can also be used to test flow coefficients of valves and pressure drops in heating and cooling circuit distributors. A control device allows the differential pressure to be kept at a constant given value. The thermostatic head is dipped into a water bath of a cryo circulator, the temperature of which can be lowered or increased at a constant rate of change.

The closing time behaviour and the influence of the water temperature are tested in an air duct test bed with two parallel closed air flow cycles. The flow cycles in the measuring section have a precisely defined air speed, a defined turbulence level and a constant temperature. The temperature can be set individually for each flow cycle, or it can be continuously changed according to a given pattern. A sudden shift of the flow cycles in relation to the measuring section leads to step responses.
